Foram, who comes from a small village, candidly shared the societal mindset she has witnessed, saying, “maa baap ke liye toh bacche same hi hote hai chahe ladka hai, ladki hai. Lekin dusro ka vo hota hai ki ladka hoga ki ladki?” Visibly surprised, Rajeev responded, “abhi bhi aisa hota hai?” reflecting his disbelief that such thinking continues even today. As the conversation progressed, Foram shed light on how people in her village often fail to recognize the strength and capabilities of women. She explained, “ye apna Operation Sindoor hua toh usmein ladkiyon ne hi operation kiya hai. Lekin vo hamare gaon ke log hote hai na, toh usmein kuch log aise hote ki vo nahi samajh pate ki ladkiyan bhi aaj vo kar sakti hai jo ladke nahi kar pate.” Standing in complete agreement, Rajeev reinforced her point with conviction, stating, “ji haan, aur bohot zyada kar sakti hai, infact har field mein aage hai ladkon se.” The moment turned even more poignant when Foram revealed that she felt relieved to have given birth to a boy, as it meant she would not have to face societal pressure, something many mothers in her village continue to endure.
