Swiss film "Diary of a Woman" trailer out, film will be released on 12th September
Swiss psychological drama "Diary of a Woman" trailer is out and is set to release on 12th September with the support of Swiss Federal Office of Cultural and Swiss films. Written and Directed by Simon Aeby and produced by Remo Muggli, Simon Aeby, Angelo Boffo and under the banners of Simon Aeby Films & Snider Films, The film will be released in cinemas across India by Jai Viratra Entertainment Limited.
Diary of a Woman focuses on the character of Alex Darkly, a middle-aged teacher dealing with a troubled past. The film tells the story of Alex's transformation into Alexa, exploring how social rejection and childhood trauma shape her psyche, eventually leading her to despair. Alex is played by Marcel Schneider, Olga Dinikova plays her mother, and Florence Matousek plays Laura, Alex's girlfriend during her darkest moments.
Diary of a Woman has garnered critical attention for its portrayal of gender identity, mental health, and the human need for acceptance. Writer and Director Simon Aeby shared his perspective on the film's story, saying that Diary of a Woman is not just a story of transformation, it is a lens into the emotional battles faced by individuals rejected by society and misunderstood by those closest to them. Cinematographer Roberto Cancellara has beautifully captured the scenes, depicting Alex's mental struggle against a backdrop that reflects the desolation within her.
