It's crucial that we guide our teens to make thoughtful decisions while navigating the online world. Having open conversations with our teens about tools available to help keep them safe is critical.” She further added, "There is no instruction manual that comes with parenting. Everyone chooses their own path and what works for you and your child. This is not an advice, I am still learning as a parent.” In response to questions about open conversations surrounding digital safety and the delicate balance between parenting and oversight, Shefali Shah emphasized on the importance of treating your kids as equals. She shared her perspective and added, “You have to figure out where you start treating them as equals and at the same time, have a parenting hand. They are going to reach a point where they are equals, where they are going to have their own mind and do their own thing. And as a parent, it might not be the easiest because you also have to let go of a lot of things you don't agree with, for them to feel comfortable.”
