Zee Bollywood to air Salman and Bhagyashree’s debut film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ on

Saturday, 6th April at 12 noon

A movie that redefined the meaning of friendship and romance in the 80’s with relatable characters and

memorable dialogues, Maine Pyar Kiya is a complete entertainer. Helmed by Sooraj Barjatya, the film

marks the debut of Salman Khan and Bhagyashree as leads, who immortalised the characters Prem and

Suman. The movie ruled the box office and was a trendsetter in every manner. From the film's costumes

to its dialogue and the soulful songs, Maine Pyar Kiya became the epitome of romance in Bollywood.

Monish Bahl and Dilip Joshi in crucial roles. Zee Bollywood with the brand promise of bringing its

viewers 101% Shuddh Bollywood movies will air the 101% Shuddh Romantic movie Maine Pyar Kiya

under its Dopehar Ka Dhamaal film festival on Saturday, 6th April at 12 noon.

The premise of the movie revolves around the lives of Karan (Alok Nath), his friend Kishan (Rajiv Verma)

and their children Suman (Bhagyashree) and Prem (Salman Khan). Karan is a mechanic who decides to

travel overseas in order to earn money. Left with no option, he calls in a favour and asks his friend

Kishan if he can look after Suman for some time. Kishan who is a wealthy businessman, lives with his

wife Kaushalya (Reema Lagoo), and son Prem. Suman and Prem become friends and he assures her that

a girl and a boy can be friends, without being romantically involved. Prem is engaged to Seema (PervinDastur), the only daughter of Kishan's business partner, Ranjeet (Ajit Vachani). At a party organised by

Seema and her brother Jeevan (Mohnish Behl), Suman and Prem are accused of having an affair. Suman

leaves the party and is dejected because of the accusations. However, Prem consoles her and they soon

realise that they have fallen in love with each other. Kaushalya approves of Suman, but Kishan

disapproves and gets enraged. He asks her to leave his house, as he believes that Suman has taken

advantage of his hospitality. In the meanwhile, Karan returns and learns about Kishan's behaviour. In a

fit of rage, he asks Suman to break all ties with Prem and his family. Prem who is unhappy with his

father’s decision, decides to leave home and be near Suman. But Karan does not approve of Prem, and

warns him to stay away from Suman. Determined to win back his love, Prem decides to do everything in

his power to prove himself to Suman’s father.

Will Prem’s love for Suman triumph? Will their fathers accept the alliance?
