Zee Studios' Punjabi romedy Kala Shah Kala collects an impressive Rs 12.2 crore worldwide in its first week

Zee Studios' Punjabi romedy, Kala Shah Kala became one of the biggest openers worldwide for a Punjabi film starring Sargun Mehta and Binnu Dhillon grossing Rs 12.2 crores worldwide in the first week of its release. Presented by Zee Studios and directed by Amarjit Singh, the film piqued viewers’ interest with a strong narrative and is winning hearts across the world! 

The film grossed Rs 6.52 crore in India and INR 5.68 crore overseas in their first week. The studio gave the film one of the widest International releases in the genre by releasing in 19 countries. The film has ranked amongst top 15 in Canada and New Zealand and top 20 in Australia over the first weekend itself.

Comparing the overseas collection for the first week with Sargun’s 2018 film ‘Qismat’, that penned an emotional note with audiences recorded over INR 5.46 crore while Binnu’s portrayal as the charismatic Gagan in ‘Vadhaiyan JI Vadhaiyan’ earned the film INR 2.9 crore, Kala Shah Kala surfaces to be their biggest hit in the international markets within its opening week.
