Joy B Ganguly is an international independent boutique film producer who's capability has been successfully demonstrated through successful releases of his films. His recent film 'Nagarkirtan' which is releasing in January 2019, also won four National Film Awards this year.

Nagarkirtan is a Bengali film exploring the life and emotions of the transgender community, which has been ruthlessly cast aside by society.

After experimenting in Regional films, Joy is now venturing into Bollywood, Web Series and an international project with and international director. Mojo Production is working on making real life content and real life stories that will entertain yet educate people.

I was hoping if we could do an interview with Joy Ganguly talking about the future of the industry and the growing interest of audience in real life movies.

Sony Liv in association with Mojo Productions, owned by Joy B Ganguly has announced their new web series ‘The Big Bong Connection’ which is to go on air on the 27th November, 2018. It is a satirical comedy about today’s ‘Generation X and Y’ of Kolkata/India and not just the Bengalis. Through the story of a middle-class family and the story of the lead characters, Rohit and Sneha, and their passion, Joy, explores the Kolkata of today – a cosmopolitan concoction of dreams, passion, developments, cultural nuances, and confusions. This concoction is what makes today’s culture and traditions,  hilarious and yet fascinating to study as one that is always developing, growing and adapting in every way to the changing trends of this modernized world. The concept is unique yet completely relatable for the modern Indian Audience.

Joy is also in talks with Shashanka Ghosh (Director - Veere Di Wedding) for an upcoming film which is a Hindi - English mix.
