Voting should be made mandatory
Mumbai. People are working towards eliminating corruption, but, people themselves are the biggest promoters of corruption because they allow the corrupt MLA,MP or the corporator or the representative to win.
People do not vote and they think what will happen if they don’t vote. This is their biggest mistake. There is hardly 25 – 30 % voting and voters favoring a particular party come out and vote. This enables the particular corporator, MLA or the representative to win every time even if they are corrupt or have a bad reputation. If all the people vote for the leader who can work for them, then there will not be corruption.
Manmohan Gupta, President of ‘Gandhi Vichar Manch’, which is based in Malad (West) in Mumbai, says “the government should make voting mandatory. This will help good leaders to get elected. If a person does not vote two times in row, his or her voting card should be made void.”
