The eagerly awaited sequel to My Spy, a 2020 action comedy, My Spy: The Eternal City returns as a feel-good family adventure, set in some of Europe’s most-storied destinations. Dave Bautista, a former WWE wrestler, kicked off his acting career in 2006 with a role in the iconic TV series, Smallville. He has since become a sought-after leading man, appearing in dozens of films, including three installments of the Guardians of the Galaxy – Spectre, Blade Runner 2049, and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Praising Bautista, My Spy's Director Pete Segal said, “When you get Dave Bautista in your movie, you know you’re going to get great action and great emotion. The guy’s a fantastic actor.” Sharing his views on his upcoming action flick, Dave Bautista revealed his experience of returning to a role he has cherished since the original film. “I was comfortable with the character from the first day,” he recalls. “I never had to wonder if I was going to click with my cast mates or director. I could fall right back into it.” Bautista gets to show off his knack for physical comedy as well as his chiseled physique in full bloom for high-octane action set pieces in this much-awaited spy comedy. “I’m doing a lot more stunts this time. We’re doing a lot more action overall and it's a higher-value action. There’s more at stake in the story so the action sequences have to be world-class. And I’d say the film is epic.” Alongside Bautista and Chloe, familiar faces Ken Jeong and Kristen Schaal reprise their roles, joined by Anna Faris, Craig Robinson and Flula Borg, in this all-new international action comedy from director Pete Segal of Get Smart and 50 First Dates fame. The much anticipated sequel takes the drama and action a notch higher as the duo travels abroad, Sophie’s high school choir tour of Italy is interrupted by a nefarious nuclear plot targeting the Vatican. My Spy: The Eternal City will stream exclusively on Prime Video in India and across 240+ countries and territories worldwide from July 18.
