Devshi Khanduri consider herself very lucky



Actress Devshi Khanduri, who was noticed for her debut film "Chargesheet", says theatre helps her maintain her acting skills.

"I have done a lot of theatre. I love it because there is a lot more creativity in it and it helps me keep my acting skills sharp. I keep learning lots of new things when I am doing theatre," Devshi Said.

But she says it is tough for a person without a film background to make a mark in the industry.

"It took me two years of auditioning, after which I got "Chargesheet". For a person like me, who is from a non-film background, it is very difficult to get into films. The number of young people who want to get into the industry is huge, but very few make it big.”

"I consider myself very lucky. But I had to work very hard for this opportunity. And it feels great that whatever work I have got has been on the basis of my performance," she said.

Now that she is getting good work, she makes sure she does not choose similar kind of roles. And had signed a Hollywood Film in which she is doing Lead role.

From a supporting actress to the main lead -- the journey has been a learning one for Devshi.

"Playing a lead role means getting the limelight, but with everything else it comes with a lot of responsibility and pressure. I hope I am able to live up to the expectations and the film does well," she said.

Asin excited as Housefull 2 nears its release

With the release of Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 2 just around the corner, no one could be as excited as Asin who joins the ensemble starcast in the rib-tickling comedy.

As the masala –entertainer releases tomorrow and with the film’s promotions in full swing ,the actress shows no sign of fatigue as she talks excitedly about the film “I am glad I could be part of this film. Housefull 2 is a very unpretentious film. It is about entertaining the masses. You have to come with that mentality Just being part of an experience like this or just the fact that both Sajids, the producer Sajid Nadiawala and director Sajid Khan, have a successful track record in this kind of commercial cinema made me want to be part of this film.”

Talking about her character in the film says Asin “I play Henna who is Chintuji's (Rishi Kapoor's) daughter. We live in London and are at war with my uncle (Randhir Kapoor) and his family. I keep getting into fights with Jacqueline who plays his daughter. Besides, this mad dozen is under one roof! As far as Henna goes, it is best not to intellectualize the character, as this is a laugh-a-minute comedy,”

The actress is also excited to be working with some of the industry’s biggest veterans. “This is the first time I have worked with each of these actors, some veterans in the Hindi film industry. When will I get to work again with Mithunda, Chintuji, Randhir Kapoor and Boman?” adds Asin.

Four decades after being in Bollywood, Bappi da again made Bengal superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee dance to his tunes with a chart-buster "Ulte Debo Paalte Debo" at Eskay Movies' Bikram Singho film song shoot at Filmcity today. It was a fun song choreographed by Chinni Prakash. Filmcity wore a completely Bengali look replete with pretty maidens in Bengali sarees and a dhobi ghaat was created for the shoot. "We have given so many hits together," said Prosenjit who is also making his presence felt in Bollywood with Dibakar Banerjee's Shanghai. "Bappi da is one man whose tunes I will always be so happy to dance to!'

Till date everyone knew Dara Shikoh as elder brother of Aurangzeb but after watching this episode they will realize how very righteous and able he was. On the command of his guru Miya Mir he translated the teachings of “Upanishad” from Sanskrit to Persian” says Actor Zakir Hussain.
Zakir Hussain though has portrayed the roles of Ratnakar, Aghori Baba Avdoot and Yaksha in the serial but his favorite role in the serial has been that of Dara Shikoh. He says he had pleasure time acting this character because the way it is put forth brings out a new dimension of the character which hardly anybody knows!
  





Emraan Hashmi and Neha Dhupia stuck inside a maze for an hour while shooting for Rush

While shooting in Goa for Percept Picture’s thriller Rush,leads Emraan Hashmi and Neha Dhupia happened to get stuck in quite an amusing situation.

An initial fun song shoot turned into quite a confusing scenario as Emraan and Neha lost their way through the mirror maze created for the scene ,so much so ,that they were stuck inside for over forty minutes.

Says a source “ The crew had designed an elaborate set in Goa for the song shoot which involved this massive oval mirror maze. It was quite confusing as after some point you couldn’t differentiate the real person from his/her reflection. Though initially enamored with the maze, Emraan and Neha ended up having difficulty getting out of it .Luckily, however, they both had a good laugh about it”.

Previously titled Raftaar 24*7 ,Percept Pictures’ thriller directed by the late Shamin Desai starring Emraan Hashmi is now officially titled Rush and is scheduled to release in the second half of 2012.

Also starring Neha Dhupia and Sagarika Ghatge,the film revived by Percept Picture Company and creative director Priyanka Desai sees Hashmi play the charismatic and controversial journalist Sam who plunges into a vortex of violence in a deadly engineered game of cat and mouse .

‘SHIRDI SAI BABA’ film fame AUSHIM KHETARPAL’s another historic epic

The film depicts the life History of the most revered princely saint from the western coast who was the first to spread the message of Hindu-Muslim unity in the 14th century.
Hindus lovingly called him ‘BABA’ and Muslims called him ‘PEER’ , the name given to him by five Persian peers who had visited India in that era and hence the name ‘BABA RAMSAA PEER’
The film boasts of a strong star cast with   Sai Bhakt Aushim Khetarpal whose popularity today has spread World wide as the preacher of Sai Baba’s commandments, essaying the key role Baba Ramsaa Peer along with Gracy Singh ( Lagaan and Munnabhai MBBS fame).
The film has been shot extensively in Mumbai, Jodhpur, Jaipur and Roncha village at the actual Samadhi of Baba Ramsaa.
The language of the film is Rajasthani and Hindi which depicts the era of the film. Special attention was given to the costumes and dialect. The music has been given by Surider Bachan with the integeration of Gujarati and Rajasthani folklores.
The film captures the magic of the period when Baba Ramsaa Peer gave humanity, peace, love and healing.

M/s Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Limited have constructed the stadium with the modern precast design and construction expertise imported from Dubai. One of the most important features of the stadium is its rain water drainage system. It has been observed that many times rain plays a spoilsport and even light showers for some time force organizers to alter the match size / duration. To overcome this problem, MCA has opted for sand based outfield developed departmentally with technical assistance from STRI Limited, U.K.  This technology facilitates faster drainage of rain water and in order to achieve this, a geo-textile fabric has been installed above the ground and perforated PVC pipes have been laid down to slope in trenches. The system has been successfully tested. Even during the heavy showers, water on the outfield drained out fast making it ready for play again just in some minutes.

Think Birds Belong in Cages??? Spare Me "POOJA MISRRA"



Pooja Misrra (Big Boss 5 fame) was caught in a colorful bird costume shooting for PETA (People for the ethical treatment of animals), she is brand ambassador for PETA, and supporting the cause of don't cage birds. Priyanka Chopra took the packed audience at the opening ceremony of the fifth edition of IPL by surprise in Chennai on Tuesday when she went up in the air during her performance. Her performace was a huge success as audience couldnt stop raving about PC's act.

Looking chic in a black and white sequinned top, black pants and a red wrap-around skirt, the actress opened her act with her popular song Aaj Ki Raat.
She did away with her skirt for a sporty look as she was pulled up in the air with a harness for an aerial act on the Don tune.

The 29-year-old mesmerised the audience with her confidence, and landed on the stage for a power-packed dance on the number Dhantanaa from the film Kaminey.

She moved around in the audience, and urged the front row members, including Sourav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh, to dance. Bhajji, as the latter is lovingly called, was sporting enough to get up and join her for a jig.

Later, Priyanka took to the stage again to interact with the cricketers of title holders Chennai Super Kings, who are led by India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

She pulled Dhoni’s leg, and asked the boys to join her for a dance on hit Tamil song Nakka Mukka.

The ceremony was opened by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who rendered a soulful poem penned by lyricist Prasoon Joshi. It was followed by a performance by Colonial Cousins, after which Priyanka took to the stage.

Rozlyn Khan’s breast cancer awareness video goes viral!

Firebrand actress Rozlyn Khan, who went topless to promote breast cancer awareness last week, has now gone a step further and released a video on the internet, displaying a six-step self-examination to help women diagnose the initial symptoms of breast cancer.

The four-minute video which went viral beginning this week has been aesthetically shot and can prove vital for early detection of the malady.

"We all know that early detection of breast cancer can save lives. However, many never bother for a check-up till their issues reach a stage where medical intervention becomes an absolute necessity," Rozlyn points out.

"Through my simple self-examination video, I intend to spread maximum awareness, inform and educate everyone about the malady and do my bit to save lives," adds the actress.

Rozlyn also makes it a point to warn all Bollywood glam girls and fashionistas who go for implants for breast enhancement, saying, "It might feel good to have bigger breasts to attract more male attention and eyeballs, but such cosmetic interference brings along a lot of risks too."

She hopes her awareness video helps bring clarity on more such issues.
