*“Ladkiyon ka na toh apna maika hota hai, na sasural hota hai”: Rajeev Khandelwal’s Heart-Wrenching Reflection on Women's Sacrifices on ‘Tum Ho Naa’*
*11th June 2026, Mumbai:* In the upcoming episode of ‘ *Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar* ’, charismatic host *Rajeev Khandelwal* guides a deeply moving conversation that sheds light on the subtle societal conditioning and systemic domestic challenges that women continuously navigate, regardless of their background. The episode takes an emotional turn as Mumbai resident Nisha shares the profound struggles and identity loss she experienced after marriage.
Nisha worked dynamically as an event manager but immediately quit her career upon her husband’s request. She opened up about the subsequent emotional toll of being a full-time homemaker and how the lack of validation deeply affected her self-worth. Reflecting on the painful turning point in her domestic life, Nisha shared her core struggle she said _“Kabhi bhi kuch arguments hote hai, jhagde hote hai, so he is like, 'Pura din kya karti hai? Tune life mai kya achieve kiya hai?' Hamesha mujhe yahi sune milta tha. Toh abhi mujhe aisa hai ki mujhe ab sirf kuch na kuch karna hai, aage badna hai aur rukna nahi hai. And I know he will always support me.”__
Stepping in with his balanced perspective, host Rajeev Khandelwal gently advocated for domestic understanding, noting, _“Kabhi kabhi shayad hum kuch keh jaate hai, which we don’t mean it.”_ Nisha's husband openly acknowledged his shortcomings, admitting that it constantly stung him to realize his wife had sacrificed her own growth, ambitions, and her dream of owning a home in Mumbai to fuel his career.
Validating the unseen labor of millions of women, Rajeev Khandelwal delivered a powerful statement that resonated deeply with everyone by stating _“Aksar suna hai hamne, ki jo mahilae job nahi karti, vo aksar kehti hai ki mujhe apne paise kamani hai. Jab ki voh jaanti hai ki ghar unhone banaya hai, voh janti hai ki parivar unki wajah se khada hai.”_
Nisha further explained how the arrival of her daughter, Tiara, just two years after marriage completely shifted her focus toward her child, husband, and family. She revealed that before marriage, her true dreams lay in the creative arts specifically acting, singing, and dancing and she had always aspired to be on television. Deeply moved by her aspirations, Rajeev Khandelwal observed the complex reality of a woman's displaced identity, stating _“Yaha khada hokar sunta hu main, toh kabhi kabhi lagta hai, ki agar soche toh, ladkiyon ka na toh apna maika hota hai, na sasural hota hai. Dono mai se kuch bhi unka apna nahi hota.”_
Rajeev beautifully articulated the necessity of respecting a woman's individual identity within a marriage, warning that any household that bruises a woman's self-respect cannot remain truly happy. He stated _“Agar aap soche aur samjhe iss baat ko, ki mahila jo hai, voh sab kuch nyochavar kar deti hai. Apne sapne sab bhula deti hai. Of course voh sapne jeevit rehte hai. Shayad, thodi si unki expectation rehti hai, ki iss sacrifice ki kadar kare. Unhe iss baat ka ehsaas kabhi na hone de ki, aap kisi bhi mayne mai, lowest feel kare. Kyunki kahi na kahi, unka bhi apni ek pehchan hoti hai. Jisse jab jab thes pahuchi hai, toh voh shayad voh nahi reh pata. Mahila ki jo pehchan hai, shayad vo uske saath mai compromise nahi kar sakti. Jo karti hai, voh parivar bahut sukhi nahi rehta.”_
The emotionally charged episode then takes a celebratory turn when Nisha’s husband surprises her on stage with an official HR offer letter from his own firm. Through Rajeev Khandelwal’s insightful anchoring, Nisha’s journey emerges as a beautiful reminder that it is never too late to reclaim your identity and chase your dreams.
