Vijay Deverakonda announced as Brand Ambassador for Sreenidhi University TG20 The league also unveiled the Season 1 schedule, beginning June 21 Hyderabad, June 16, 2026: The Sreenidhi University TG20 has announced actor Vijay Deverakonda as the official Brand Ambassador for the inaugural edition of the tournament, strengthening the league’s ambition to position Telangana cricket on a major national platform. The announcement comes alongside the unveiling of the official Season 1 schedule for the tournament, which begins on June 21 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. One of India’s biggest youth icons and a proud representative of Telangana, Vijay Deverakonda will serve as the face of the league and support its mission of celebrating local cricketing talent, regional pride and fan engagement. Renowned actor Vijay Deverakonda said: “Every Cricket legend was once an unknown name with a dream. TG20 is about discovering the next one. Somewhere in Telangana, a young cricketer is waiting for a chance to inspire millions. Proud to be part of a league that believes in talent, backs ambition, and sees dreams before the world does.” The opening ceremony of the league will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium and will begin at 5:30 PM on June 21. The event will feature a live performance by National Award-winning music composer Thaman S, among others. The inaugural edition of the Sreenidhi University TG20 will feature eight city-based franchises and several marquee names from Indian domestic cricket and the Telangana circuit. India international Mohammed Siraj will headline the Warangal Warriors squad, while India’s T20I vice-captain Tilak Varma and Ravi Teja will represent Medak Falcons. The tournament opener will see Palamuru Strikers take on Anvita Khammam Aces on June 21, with the league stage running through July 7 before the playoffs commence on July 9. The final will be played on July 12. Fans across the country will be able to watch every match live on Star Sports, Star Sports 2, Star Sports 2 Telugu and JioHotstar. Several marquee clashes headline the Sreenidhi University TG20 calendar, including Warangal Warriors versus Medak Falcons on June 22, Hyderabad E-Champions versus Ranga Reddy Risers on June 25, and Palamuru Strikers versus Warangal Warriors on July 3. With a strong mix of experienced campaigners, emerging players and marquee entertainment value, Sreenidhi University TG20 aims to become a defining sporting property for Telangana.
