It was an evening where India’s finest young women took centre stage, embodying the spirit of ambition, individuality, and modern Indian womanhood. The 61st edition of the pageant kicked off last November with the launch of a nationwide talent hunt to find promising prospects from all corners of the country. The extensive scouting drive and subsequent audition rounds across five zones - North, East, North East, South and West culminated with the selection of 30 state winners who then underwent a rigorous grooming journey through a specialised boot camp in Mumbai, led by renowned industry experts, designed to refine their skills, build confidence, and prepare them for the grand stage. With every challenge and milestone, they evolved into strong, articulate, and purpose-driven individuals. This season, the pageant found its core inspiration in “Connecting the DOTS”, where DOTS stands for “Daughters of This Soil.” Through this initiative, the pageant underscores the ethos of unity in diversity and remains committed to its legacy of bringing together 30 daughters from 30 states under one unified stage, celebrating the diversity, strength, and spirit of womanhood that truly defines India. The 61st edition of the contest marked a defining turn with its partnership with KIIT Bhubaneswar, an institution that, under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, has earned recognition as one of India’s most respected global institutions. The institution is built on the belief that education is the most powerful tool for social change & empowerment, especially for young women. Alongside it, KISS Bhubaneswar stands as one of the world’s most extraordinary models of empowerment to tribals through education, transforming thousands of young lives. The event is co-powered by Rajnigandha Silver Pearls, a brand rooted in the belief that ‘Achchai ki ek alag chamak hoti hai.’ This philosophy shines through in every pearl – crafted with the choicest cardamom seeds, delicately blended with pure saffron & coated in silver – coming together to celebrate a refined essence of goodness. During their time at KIIT University, Femina Miss India World 2024 Nikita Porwal, along with the Top 30 state winners, began their journey with a campus tour, exploring the expansive university in buggies. They were warmly greeted by students, faculty, and staff, forming human chains, cheering and waving throughout the campus. The experience then reached a powerful high where nearly 40,000 children came together to welcome them with unmatched energy and excitement. Over the following days, the state winners continued their journey across KIIT University, engaging in a range of activities, interacting closely with students, and immersing themselves in the vibrant culture of Odisha. They also celebrated Odia New Year with a specially curated festive meal, experiencing authentic Odia cuisine. Adding to this enriching experience, the state winners explored the cultural and spiritual heritage of the region with visits to the sacred Jagannath Temple and the iconic Konark Sun Temple ahead of the grand finale. The grand finale evening commenced with a vibrant lineup of cultural performances by KIIT and KISS students, including a flute band, multilingual musical presentations, and tribal dance performances, setting the tone for the grand celebration.
