&TV Artists Share Their
Mahashivratri Rituals and Celebrations Plan
Mahashivratri
is one of the most auspicious festivals dedicated to Lord Shiva, symbolising
inner awakening, devotion, and the triumph of faith over ignorance. Celebrated
with fasting, night-long prayers, and sacred rituals, the festival holds deep
spiritual significance. &TV artists open up about how they observe
Mahashivratri, the traditions they follow, and the personal meaning the
festival holds for them. These include Jayshankar Tripathi (Playing Mahesh
Sharma in the upcoming show Hey Bhagwaan – Kitna Badal Gaya Insaan),
Paras Arora (Gharwali Pedwali), Geetanjali Mishra (Happu Ki Ultan
Paltan), and Rohitashv Gour (Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). Jayshankar
Tripathi, who will be seen as Mahesh Sharma in &TV’s
upcoming show Hey Bhagwaan – Kitna Badal Gaya Insaan, shares, “Mahashivratri
has been an integral part of my life since childhood. I have always been a
devoted Mahadev bhakt and follow the rituals of fasting, prayers, and
night-long devotion with complete faith. This year feels especially divine
because in my upcoming show Hey Bhagwaan – Kitna Badal Gaya Insaan, Mahadev is
portrayed as a companion and guiding presence for my character. Being part of a
show that reflects my personal beliefs feels like Mahadev’s blessing itself. I
truly believe he has guided me to this project, and I thank him for trusting me
with such a meaningful role. On this sacred day, I pray for strength, wisdom,
and positivity for everyone.”
Paras
Arora, who essays the role of Jeetu in &TV’s Gharwali
Pedwali, says, “For me, Mahashivratri is a day of inner peace and
reflection. I feel a deep connection with Lord Shiva, and every year I make it
a point to explore different Lord Shiva temples. Riding my bike to nearby Shiv
temples has become a personal tradition it allows me to disconnect from the
chaos and truly immerse myself in devotion. Offering prayers in those serene
spaces gives me immense calm and clarity. This Mahashivratri, I seek Lord Shiva’s
blessings for balance, growth, and happiness.” Geetanjali Mishra,
who plays Rajesh in &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan,
shares, “Mahashivratri is a festival I look forward to every year with great
devotion. Visiting a Jyotirlinga for darshan has been a long-standing tradition
for me, and it fills my heart with immense peace and gratitude. Standing there,
offering prayers, and absorbing that spiritual energy makes me feel grounded
and protected. This year, I am planning to visit Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga for
darshan and seek Mahadev’s blessings. No matter how busy my shooting schedule
is, I ensure I follow my rituals with sincerity. Mahashivratri reminds me to
surrender my worries and trust Mahadev’s plan.” Rohitashv Gour, who
essays the iconic role of Manmohan Tiwari in &TV’s Bhabiji
Ghar Par Hai, says,“Mahashivratri holds great importance for my
entire family. Every year, we observe a fast together, perform traditional
puja, and prepare maha prasad at home with complete devotion. These rituals are
not just religious practices but moments that strengthen our family bond.
Sitting together, chanting prayers, and sharing prasad fills our home with
positivity and peace. Through Mahashivratri, we try to pass on the values of
faith, discipline, and gratitude to our children.”
