Designed as a rooted, culturally resonant comedy set in Varanasi, the series marks the beginning of a refreshed, differentiated comedy line-up on ZEE5 in collaboration with &TV. Gharwali Pedwali follows Jeetu Pandey, whose wedding day takes a bizarre turn when he’s compelled to marry a peepal tree to fix his horoscope. Unbeknownst to him, the tree houses Latika — a ghost who has been trapped there for decades. The ritual unexpectedly binds her to Jeetu as his first wife, setting off a hilarious and heartwarming chain of supernatural chaos. Caught between his modern gharwali Savi and his sanskaari pedwali Latika, Jeetu’s life quickly descends into hilarious double trouble filled with family drama, cultural quirks, and paranormal mischief.
