The special screening was attended by Director General of Police (DGP) of Madhya Pradesh, Kailash Makwana, as the chief guest. He watched the film along with several senior police officials and police personnel from across the state. The event turned out to be more than just a film screening; it became an emotional occasion honouring the dedication, service and bravery of the Madhya Pradesh Police. Along with highlighting the responsibilities and challenges faced by the police force, the film also presents the rich cultural heritage, natural beauty and social landscape of Madhya Pradesh on the big screen in a compelling manner. The event was also attended by the film’s lead actress and real-life IPS officer Simala Prasad. Speaking at the occasion, she said that The Narmada Story is not merely a film for entertainment but a story that strengthens trust, sensitivity and partnership between society and the police. According to her, films like these can become an important medium to bring the humane side of police service closer to people. Actor Sharad Singh was also present at the event and shared his experiences associated with the film. He said that watching a story created on the soil of Madhya Pradesh along with members of the state’s police family was a proud and special moment for him. One of the film’s significant achievements is that it has provided important opportunities to several local artists from Bhopal and different parts of Madhya Pradesh, helping create an authentic and natural representation of the region’s culture and environment. Directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Jaigam Imam, The Narmada Story features a strong ensemble cast including National Award-winning actor Raghubir Yadav, Mukesh Tiwari, Ishtiyak Khan, late Alok Chatterjee, National Award-winning actress Anjali Patil, Zarina Wahab and Ashwini Kalsekar in important roles. The film effectively delivers messages around women empowerment, justice and social responsibility.
