**Bhagyashree Encourages Blood Donation, Says, “Women Can Donate Blood Too, There Is Absolutely No Reason to Hesitate”*
The veteran actress Bhagyashree along with her daughter Avantika was the chief guest for the nationwide voluntary blood donation initiative, RAKTDAN KARTVYAM – 2026 by Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad (ABTYP). The campaign aims to bring corporates, government bodies, educational institutions, NGOs and communities together to increase India’s blood reserves and create a sustainable culture of voluntary blood donation and social responsibility. Bhagyashree also donated blood at the event, setting an example and inspiring more people to come forward for the cause.
Speaking about the initiative, Bhagyashree said, “This blood donation drive has been organized by the 13-Month Parishad, which has been doing this wonderful initiative for many years. We have always been associated with them in one way or another, either as family members or through our children. This is a noble initiative for the welfare of society. During emergencies, whether someone is in an operation theatre, has met with an accident, or a child’s life is at risk, blood is urgently needed. Every hospital should have access to a well-stocked blood bank so that patients can receive immediate help.”
She also stressed the need to spread awareness about voluntary blood donation. “One unit of donated blood can save up to three lives. I would especially like to tell women that they can donate blood too. Today, both my daughter Avantika and I donated blood. As long as your hemoglobin levels are normal and you don’t have low blood pressure, there is absolutely no reason to hesitate. Please consult your doctor, but women can safely donate blood and help save lives.”
Sharing what inspired her family to be a part of the campaign, Bhagyashree revealed, “The credit actually goes to Abhimanyu. When Hiteshji told him about organizing this blood donation camp, he became very excited and immediately said, ‘We have to do this.’ Years ago, I wasn’t sure whether I could donate blood, but after speaking to doctors and understanding the facts, I realized it was absolutely safe. I am very happy that Abhimanyu himself took the initiative and inspired all of us.”
When asked about the values she hopes to pass on to her children, Bhagyashree reflected, “Everyone has their own journey. As parents, we can guide our children by telling them what is right and wrong, but ultimately they have to experience life themselves. Until a person faces challenges and failures, they don’t truly learn how to overcome difficulties. It is very important not to keep children in an overprotective environment. They should understand the realities of life because only then will they appreciate the true value of success.”
Bhagyashree, as the Chief Guest and a participator in the blood donation drive, once again highlighted the importance of leading by example and encouraging others to support causes that truly make a difference.
