14th Fura Retail Jeweller India Awards 2018 applauds the finest makers of

jewellery in India

~Winners selected by eminent personalities from diverse arenas~

~India’s TOP 100 precious jewellery designs displayed in the nominations gallery; showcasing

fine craftsmanship~

Mumbai, 10th August: Recognized as India’s Oscars of the retail jewellery industry, the 14th Fura Retail

Jeweller India Awards 2018 (RJIA) in association with Platinum Guild International (PGI), Solitaire

Gems Labs (SGL), Hari Krishna Exports and Damara Gold, was held on August 10th, 2018 at The J W

Marriot, Sahar, Mumbai

Each year for 14 years, hundreds of illustrious participants from across the jewellery industry in India,

together with a high-profile Grand Jury of experts including jewellery connoisseurs Michelle

Poonawalla, Director, Poonawalla Group of Engineering Companies; Nawaz Modi Singhania, Fitness

and lifestyle expert and artist; Perizaad Zorabian, Director- Zorabian Group of Companies; Namrata

Baruwa Shroff, Interior architect and Devita Saraf, founder and CEO of Vu Technologies. The Grand

Jury along with the dedicated Awards team, spend months identifying and selecting the very finest

jewellery creations of this year.

This year, the Awards expanded to 20 categories and with five of the finest creations in each category, a

total of 100 masterpieces were nominated by the Grand Jury. The Top 100 Precious Jewellery Designs

of India showcasing the collective excellence of some of the top retail houses in the country were on

display at the venue. These pieces are showcased at TheJewelleryDiaries.com, India’s first online

precious jewellery media platform.

At a gala event attended by leaders of the industry, celebrities and stars of the silver screen, the winners

in 20 jewellery categories and 4 retail and marketing categories were announced and feted.

Hosted by the charming Neha Sareen, the evening was an exciting affair that was graced by the presence

of celebrated personalities from the Bollywood fraternity. Present at the event were Raveena Tandon, famous Bollywood actor, Saiyami Kher, actor who made her debut in Mirzya.

This year, RJIA welcomed millennials as jurors to the Grand Jury. The jury included both jewellery

connoisseurs and jewellery buffs, bringing a new dimension to the award decisions. The jewellery buff’s

include Kritika Kamra; Actor, Yashaswini Dayama; Actor, Puja Banerjee; Actor, Sreejita De; Actor and

Priyamvada Kant; Actor and Riddhi Dogra, Actor.

The retail and marketing categories were judged by Shaziya Khan, Senior VP and Executive Planning

Director and Shaveta Bhardwaj, Senior Executive Director, Kantar Millward Brown.

association with RJIA is testimony to FURA’s focus on Indian Retail Jewellery Industry. India is a growing

market for colored gemstones and we are forging new partnerships in the market to take the industry to
