IamIndependent: KALKI x 11 Independent Women & Their Heartwarming Confessions Mumbai, August, 2018 KALKI is an emotion that encourages women to embrace their own uniqueness. We at KALKI, aim at empowering women to make them independent in all aspects from mind, thought, rights and when it comes to making their own independent choices. In order to take their own right decisions in every area whether for them, family, society or country, women need fresh and more capable environment where they can come, share and support one another. Therefore, KALKI takes up this social initiative on the account of Independence Day and decided to invite 11 women with overlapping identities and their outrageous stories that led them move the independent needle forward towards equal rights. These stories about women supporting women are an example of how to uplift each other up instead of helping hold each other down. Laying humongous focus on hashtags #IamIndependent #IamKALKI, the campaign will aim to battle negative women image perceptions which every woman is been facing today. The 11 women were a part of KALKI’s exclusive video where they boldly shared their inspiring stories that led them take that independent decision that changed their life today. Focusing the campaign across masses to help the generation X and the millennials today to believe in them then be it taking a decision on breaking a marriage or making one or on getting body shamed for being fat or skinny, you are just an independent step away. Stories revolved around physical abusive, body shaming, antiquated society etc. This topic is important to the society as it not only affects the women physically but mentally too. Today these 11 females who were affected and had been through a higher level of negative apprehensions, thoughts and feelings have survived their struggles and have made themselves stronger today with one Independent decision. They have fought their lives to get to a better place today. As a brand and to make this as a successful social campaign, KALKI and these 11 independent women stood together to make a change as well as challenge the issues that every woman come across every day. We together like to challenge all the negative woman representation and inspire woman to pledge saying, ‘I will live the vision and version of myself until it is the greatest possible expression of who I am. I am Independent. I am KALKI.’ The campaign will run from 5th to 14th of August, 2018. As social media has been the biggest form of inspiration to everyone, the exclusive video will up on all our social media channels i.e. YouTube, Instagram, IGTV, Twitter and Facebook. Also, like all the 11 women who took a second important decision of standing up and boldly speak about what they had been through. We will be hosting an open mic session where you can come and share with us your most heartwarming anecdotes, few challenges you have been through to do things that truly made a difference in your life, that one independent move that has rightfully earned you a title as 'I am an Independent Women'.
