Berlin Mayor Klaus Wowereit visits India

With a view to deepen relations between India and the city of Berlin. the Governing Mayor of
Berlin Mr. Klaus Wowereit is visited Delhi and Mumbai from March 24-28, 2012. In both cities, Mr. Wowereit opened conferences on Infrastructure, which hosted various panel discussions on subjects relating to infrastructure and urban spaces. Mr. Wowereit's visit has been a “historical” one as never before has there been a visit by a residing Mayor of Berlin to India.

During his visit in Delhi. Mr. Wowereit held talks with the Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs. Sheila Dikshit, Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, Mr. Tejendra Khanna. and the Minister for Urban Development. Mr. Kamal Nath and also inaugurate the exhibition of the United Buddy Bears at the Central Park in Connaught Place on 27 March at 10 am.

The bear has been Berlin's emblem for centuries and the Buddy Bear was envisaged to capture the hearts of Berliners and their guests in various different designs. Following the motto "We have to get to know each other better…it makes us understand one another better, trust each other more, and live together more peacefully". the 2m tall Buddy Bears promote tolerance and mutual understanding among different nations, cultures and religions. The United Buddy Beam exhibition is on display from 27 March to 11 May 2012. Since 2012, the "United Buddy Bears" have visited 23 metropolises including Hong Kong. In Murnhai, Mr. Wowereit' s political appointments included meetings with the newly elected Mayor of Mumbai, Mr. Sunil Prabhu and the Municipal commissioner of Mumbai, Mr. Subodh Kumar. He also addressed a joint Press Conference with Mr. Subdoslh Komar and the President of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry Berlin, Eric Sehweiteer.

With this visit, Mr. Wowereit aims to explore new avenues or cooperation in the fields of economy, culture and tourism. Mr. Wowereit is also accompanied by a high-profile business delegation from different infrastructure-related industries. The business delegation, led by the President of  the Chambers of Commerce and Industry Belin Erie Schweitzer, aims la make new contacts in India. thus initiating a constructive dialogue on infrastructure issues.

Kader Khan returns on TV with Movers & Shakers

A highly admired Indian film actor, veteran comedian, script and dialogue writer, Kader Khan appears on Movers & Shakers. Kader Khan, once called the ‘King of Comedies’ has acted in over 300 films, and has remarkably contributed to the bollywood industry and was thrilled to be a part of cult show Movers & Shakers on SAB TV.

Kader Khan said, “I used to watch Movers & Shakers previously and I am a big fan of Shekhar Suman as well. That man has the knack of timely humour which can compel anyone to crackle. Usually, I prefer not to come on the small screen, but it is this show that made me change my mind.”

Kader Khan will leave the audience in splits when he delivered dialogues from his most famous movies. He shared that he would love to work with Shekhar Suman in a film. He shared interesting incidents that happened during his film career and shared that he missed working with Prakash Jha and Manmohan Desai. However, this prolific writer, actor has been forgotten by the film industry.

It was heart rending and touching to see the special children to be so happy and joyful on th 15 minute BUDDY WALK  they participated for an awareness about down syndrome at the carter road Bhavna Kodiyal spearheaded the whole affair with the support of other lions
members Krishna hegde ,Rakesh Bedi ,Lalchand Rajput,Amy Billimoria who also
supported by announcing a fashion show with the special  children shortly.The band performed in open air and the children danced and also had fun and it was surprising to see the children have so much fun Others who supported Bhavna in the cause were ,Lion Dr.Hemant Dugad,Lion
sameer dixit,Lion subhamoy dastidar,Lion gulshan bhaktiyani.

NGO Lion Bhavana Kodiyal spearheaded a walk "Buddy Walk "at the carter road ,where special children  walked with  Krishna Hegde ,crickter Lalchand Rajpoot,Amy Billimoria and with  Down's syndrome association with 24 x 7 help line and Dr.'s facilities and more other help to get the job in corporate which will make children independent financial and lead normal
life.

Buddy Walk is an international phenomenon where the Down's kids walk along with other members of the society. The purpose is to show solidarity with these children, to sensitize society about the condition and to create awareness in general public. wn's Syndrome is a condition where there is an extra chromosome in the body.

As a result many children face challenges in learning, hearing, speech, sight. Many have heart defects.Inspite of these adversities, these children are happy, many can dance/swim/paint very well. Many are economically independent, leading a fruitful life.They need your reassurance that the society understands them and is with them.

Internationally, "Buddy Walks" are organized where these children walk hand in hand with "us". This is to show solidarity with them and to encourage them to carry on their struggle. Lions clubs have taken initiative to start this event in Mumbai and hope to create awareness about these children of God in common public.

Individuals with Down syndrome usually have low intelligence, such as to constitute mild to moderate intellectual disability. A small number have a severe to high degree of intellectual disability. The average IQ of children with Down syndrome is around 50, compared to normal children with an IQ of 100. Many children with Down syndrome who have received family support, enrichment therapies and tutoring manage to graduate from high school and are able to do paid work, and some participate in post-secondary education as well.
Individuals with Down syndrome may have some or all of the following
physical characteristics: microgenia (an abnormally small chin) an unusually round face, macroglossia an almond shape to the eyes caused by an epicanthic fold of the eyelid, upslanting palpebral fissures shorter limbs, a single transverse palmar crease poor muscle tone and a larger than normal space between the big and second toes. Health concerns for individuals with Down syndrome include a higher risk for congenital
heart defects gastroesophageal reflux disease,recurrent ear infections that may lead to hearing
loss, obstructive sleep apnea thyroid dysfunctions, and obesity.Early childhood intervention screening for common problems, medical treatment where indicated, a conducive family
environment, and vocational training can improve the overall development of
children with Down syndrome. Education and proper care will improve quality of life significantly, despite genetic limitations.

Music launch of John Abraham's Vicky Donor inaugurated with a Sperm Dance



30th March, 2012 marked the music launch of JA Entertainment & Eros International’s Vicky Donor in association with Rising Sun Films, at a popular mall in the suburbs.

Flagging it off with a “Sperm Dance” to the song Chadha much to the audiences’ amusement, the music of the film, was launched in the presence of director Shoojit Sircar, starcast Ayushmann Khurrana, Yami Gupta, Annu Kapoor and producer John Abraham.

While music composers Abhishek-Abhay belted out tracks from the film ,John Abraham joined the starcast on stage with an impromptu jig that had audiences quite literally screaming for more .

Said John Abraham “Vicky Donor is a quirky, eye-opening film with a fun treatment and I’m confident that audiences will endorse a film with good content”. Adding that “You must watch out for Rum-Whiskey ,my item song in the film”.

All praise for the music composer duo said director Shoojit Sircar “Abhishek-Abhay have done a great job on the music of the film. There are 8 songs on the album,all of which are situational and take the story forward “

Another highlight to the evening was lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana’s live performance to the Punjabi love ballad Paani .On the occasion said Ayushmann Khurana “We are overwhelmed with the feedback and reactions we’ve received on the promo and hope that people enjoy the music and of course the film”.

Produced by John Abraham,  Eros International’s contemporary comedy Vicky Donor directed by Shoojit Sircar , takes a light hearted look at the taboo attached to infertility and artificial insemination. The film is scheduled to release April 20th,2012.

Sholay is considered a land mark in Indian film industry. Now when the news that a film starring the famous Jai Veeru pair is starting spread like a wild fire, everybody rushed to the leading lady Veena Mallik to get her views.

 Veena says" well I would love to work with the legend Amitabh Bachchan. Infact he is my idol. I have grown watching his films and will marry someone like him only." Then she laughs and says, "I have signed a great female oriented film and yes Dharamji is very much a part of the film. But as for Mr. Bachchan, he is still not in the project. But of course we would love to have him on board. I think this news has been the brain child of the director Manoj kumar who has taken the film very seriously!"

And to add to the spice to the already spiced up film (what do you expect from a Veena Mallik film!) The name of the film is' Rajni ki lag gai' so now we have the legend Rajnikanth associated with the film, who knows!!!

Celebs throng Ram Navami at Iskcon, Juhu

It was Ram Navami celebrations at Iskcon, Juhu where Lord Rama mahabhishek was followed by a boat ride of Lord Ram. The entire temple was adorned with flowers from around the globe from 4:30 a.m. the mangal aarti began, followed by shobha yatra followed by maha abhishek and maha aarti. In the evening, danseuse Hema Malini gave a performance essaying Sita Swayamvar on stage, just after Dwajarohan, followed by Hari Darshan. Irrespective of religious faiths and beliefs celebrities made it a point to be part of this momentous occasion included Sufi Singer Mudasir Ali, Esha and Ahana, Payal Rohatgi and Sangram Singh and were warmly received by host Vraj Nandan Das, Director-Communication, Iskcon.

Zee TV’s Maruti Suzuki Dance India Dance unveils the first of its kind WAP site & Mobile Application in India!

Mumbai, March 27th, 2012: Continuing with the tradition of exploring differentiated marketing on DID, Zee TV once again is ready to set some new benchmarks. Maruti Suzuki Dance India Dance Season 3 will unveil the first of its kind WAP site & Mobile Application. Devices Like iPads, BlackBerry, Android, netbooks, iPhones, PDAs, eBook reader, tablet PCs and cell phones have built a virtual network which connects people on the go and allows them to stay connected anytime and anywhere. This cutting edge technology will make a dream come true for all DID fans and the tech savvy generation of smartphone and feature phone users.  The channel has associated with MOBILOX Innovations Pvt. Ltd to develop a WAP & APP technology which will give all mobile phone addicts the opportunity to reach out to their favourite DID contestants in real time.

The WAP site will have exciting and entertaining features like appreciating your favourite participant while you watch them dance on television; chat with your favourite DID contestants and suggest dance steps to them; interact with the judges of DID – Masters Remo, Geeta & Terence; vote for your favourite participants (with in-built Missed call function) among others. The APP will have fun features like clicking your friend’s photo and turning the photo into an animated character. It will dance to a tune and this video can be shared on Facebook and Twitter. One will also be able to view all the Twitter messages and posts of all participants and judges on one page. The WAP is developed on HTML5. With most mobile phones having no access to Flash, HTML5 can deliver videos and other multimedia content to any kind of mobile phones and feature phones. HTML5 will enable users a better, faster, richer Web experience on their phones.

With every true democracy believing in voting being free...DID initiated ‘DID Season 3, VOTING FREE’ for the first time on Indian Television. Through this, Zee TV had a direct impact on the lives of the viewers by making the entire voting process in DID absolutely free of cost. All a viewer had to do was give a MISSED CALL to all his/her favourite contestants!  This season was also significant for another first! This January, the show announced its licensing and merchandising tie-up with sportswear giant Reebok to create and retail a special range of DID and Reebok dance gear. Reebok has designed a customized range of DID dance gear and retails it from around 100 outlets across the country currently. If this was not enough, Zee TV conducted the biggest BTL activity in Mumbai on 1st March 2012 wherein DANCE INDIA DANCE broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the ‘Largest Bollywood Dance in Mumbai’. A crowd of 4428 enthusiastic dancers from all parts of Mumbai helped DID win the coveted certificate from Guinness World Records Ltd.

With the launch of the new APP/ WAP technology, DID will bring ‘Umeed’ into the lives of the viewers by bringing them closer to their favourite participants.
